New Delhi: India’s total active Covid-19 caseload fell below the two lakh mark Wednesday. This is the lowest number of active cases that have been recorded since June. On 27 June 2020, 1,97,387 cases were recorded.
Daily cases

In the last 24 hours, India recorded 13,823 new cases of Covid-19. At least 79.2 per cent of the new cases recorded are concentrated in seven states and union territories (UT).
Active cases

India’s total active case count declined to 1,97,201 in the last 24 hours. The active cases account for 1.86 per cent of total cases. As many as 34 states and UTs have less than 10,000 active cases.
Number of deaths

The total number of deaths recorded in the last 24 hours stood at 162 Wednesday. India’s total death toll has reached 1,52,718.
Mortality rate

India’s case fatality rate stood at 1.4 per cent. Punjab’s fatality rate continues to be the highest in India, at 3.2 per cent. This is followed by Maharashtra at 2.5 per cent and Sikkim at 2.2 per cent.
Daily tests

The total number of tests conducted in the last 24 hours stood at 7,64,120. Since the beginning of the pandemic, India has collected 18,85,66,947 testing samples for Covid-19.
Positivity rate

The test positivity rate in India reached 1.8 per cent in the last 24 hours. The overall test positivity, calculated since the beginning of the pandemic, has reached 5.6 per cent.
Recovered cases

As many as 16,988 Covid-19 patients recovered across India in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,02,45,741.
Total cases

As many as 1,05,95,660 people have been infected with Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in India.
States with the highest active cases

Kerala continued to report the highest number of active cases recorded in India at 70,481. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Kerala has reported 8,57,380 cases of Covid-19 and 3,506 deaths.

Maharashtra recorded the second-highest number of active cases in India at 49,615. The total number of cases in Maharashtra stand at 19,94,977 and 50,523 deaths have been reported so far.

Uttar Pradesh recorded the third-highest number of active cases at 8,172. The total number of cases recorded in the state stand at 5,97,238 and deaths at 8,584.

Karnataka recorded the fourth-highest number of active cases at 7,884. The total number of cases recorded in the state stand at 9,33,077 and deaths at 12,181.

West Bengal recorded the fifth-highest number of active cases at 6,781. The total number of cases recorded in the state stand at 5,66,073 and deaths at 10,074.
